COACHING

Coaching is one of the most significant new developments in human growth over the past two decades. It builds on your strengths, rather than dwelling on weaknesses. It confirms you and helps you to discover your own potential. It enables you to overcome blocks and negative beliefs.

To go and see your coach is to go into a thoroughly enjoyable experience: an experience from which you will emerge with fresh energy and a renewed sense of purpose.

I started in this field, after twenty years of working in business, in 1992. At that time most of my coaching clients were very senior executives, in the private sector (in industry, the City of London, and the professions), and in the public sector (NHS, and senior levels of the Prison Service). I am still involved in these fields, and I also work with people who are looking for career change. This can be dramatic: someone who was a senior Board director decided to retrain as an actor; someone else left a Board position to move with the family to the US. I have recently, in following my own interests, become more fully involved in the voluntary sector, where I have in-depth experience at all levels. I am Chairman of a therapeutic community charity, and a trustee of three other charities involved with prisons, victim support, and meditation. My coaching work links well with each of these fields.

In the business world, I can help you to develop your strategy, meet targets, increase profits and grow your organisation. Just as a high performing sportsman will have a coach, so a successful leader in business, or in the private or voluntary sectors, benefits from the training, support, feedback and stimulus of a coach who can assist him or her towards even better performance. This is Executive Coaching.

Not all my clients are at a senior level - it is people who interest me, whatever their position in life. Some may be highly successful, some may frankly see themselves as failures. Some are full of confidence, some want to look in depth at all aspects of their lives. In your private life I can help you take key decisions, refocus on important priorities, deal more effectively with private and work relationships, and build a new philosophy of your own to enable you to enjoy your life more fully. This is Life Coaching.

My coaching programmes begin with a single full appraisal session; we agree the priorities you want to pursue, and construct the programme accordingly. The programme continues with six or ten sessions at approximately monthly intervals. Each programme is different, custom-built around your own needs and wishes. Some clients continue for six sessions, some for one year, some use coaching throughout their lives once they have got the taste for it.

If you would like to explore the possibility of having some coaching, email me and I will ring you back for an informal discussion.
